TillMint · point of sale for real-world selling

The point of sale that works
where the signal doesn’t.

Built for market stalls, food trucks and pop-ups. Photograph your menu — or import it from the till you are leaving — and you are selling in a minute, with the prices you set. Rain, crowds, dead zones: checkout never skips a beat. And at pack-down it tells you what that market actually paid you, per hour.

  • ✓ Works with zero signal
  • ✓ Cash change in 3 taps
  • ✓ You set every price — always
  • ✓ Selling in under a minute, no sign-up

Set up in the time it takes the jug to boil

1

Bring your catalogue

Photograph your menu and every item comes across with its heading and its sizes. Already on Loyverse, Square, Vend or Shopify? Drop in their CSV and you are stocked in a minute. Or point your phone at one jar at a time. Either way you type the prices — AI never guesses money, and it will not read one off a photo either.

2

Sell it in one tap

Your stall becomes a grid of big, glove-friendly tiles. Tap, tap, Charge. Cash? Tap what they handed you — change due in numbers you can read at arm’s length in full sun.

3

Know your day

Running total all day, every sale on the record. Mistakes get voided in the open — nothing is ever quietly deleted. Your end-of-day count actually reconciles.

Dead zone? Doesn’t matter.

Most “offline modes” are an online app holding its breath. TillMint is the other way around: your phone is the till. Every sale is recorded on the device first, instantly, every time — then synced to the cloud whenever signal wanders back.

No spinner between “that’ll be $26.50” and money in the tin. Ever. That’s not a feature tier — it’s the architecture.

  • Install from the browser — no app store, works on the phone you own
  • Starts selling with no account — sign-up can wait until pack-down
  • Syncs when it can — never blocks you when it can’t
  • Your prices are yours — GST-inclusive, no surprises at the till

Was that Saturday
worth getting up for?

Every till can tell you what you took. None of them know what the stall fee was, how long you stood there, or which market it even was — because every one of them was built for a shop, and a shop does not move.

Tap the market name when you set up. Everything you sell that day is filed against it, and when you pack down you get the number nobody else gives you: what this market actually paid you, per hour, after costs.

Do it a few times and it ranks your weekends for you — and tells you what to load in the van for each one.

  • Riccarton, Sunday — took $612, stall fee $60, 5.5 hours
  • $74/hr after costs — the figure you can actually decide on
  • Lyttelton pays $41/hr — same effort, different answer
  • Take 31 jars, 9 honey — what the last few Riccartons sold

AI where it helps.
Never where it doesn’t.

Typing a product catalogue on a phone at 6am is nobody’s idea of a good market day. So AI does the typing: photo in, details out, you confirm. That’s the whole job.

What AI will never do in TillMint: set a price, suggest a price, touch your takings, or slow down a customer. We built the walls into the code — checkout literally cannot call the AI.

That holds even when the prices are right there in the photo. A misread digit turns a $4.50 coffee into a $45.00 one, and it is your customer who finds out. So the price boxes come back empty, your menu stays on screen while you fill them in, and every number in your till was typed by you.

Reads your whole menu off a photo
Reads the label off a single product
Suggests size, milk & extras options
Picks a tile emoji (you’ll argue with it)
Prices — even the ones printed on your own menu
Anything at all during checkout

Fair questions

What does it run on?

Any reasonably modern phone or tablet — iPhone or Android — straight from the browser. Add it to your home screen and it installs like an app, works offline, and updates itself between market days.

What does it cost?

The till itself is free, forever — and so is cloud backup, selling from as many devices as you like, your public stall page, and exporting your data. Pro (NZ$29.99/month) adds business reports, the live sales journal, loyalty cards and AI product learning. Storefront (NZ$39.95/month) adds inventory control, suppliers, staff PINs and end-of-day cash-ups for permanent shops. Both start with a free trial, no card needed, and we never take a percentage of your takings.

Can I take card payments?

Today you can record card sales taken on your existing EFTPOS terminal alongside cash, so your day still reconciles in one place. Built-in tap-to-pay on the phone itself is on the roadmap.

What happens to my data if I stop using it?

It’s yours. Everything lives on your device first and exports to CSV. We’re a POS, not a hostage negotiation.

Open your till in five minutes

Selling on one device is free, forever — no card, no trial clock, no percentage of your takings. Add cloud backup, loyalty and reports whenever you’re ready.
